Build guide

OpenStax Psychology 2e Practice Questions

Create or update a native ecommerce product page for the downloadable OpenStax Psychology 2e test bank.

Part 1Build target

Use the site’s existing:

  • Header, navigation, breadcrumbs and footer
  • Product/catalog records
  • Price and currency formatting
  • Cart or direct-checkout flow
  • Payment security components
  • Digital delivery system
  • Review system
  • Support link
  • Product-card and related-product components
  • Typography, colors, spacing and breakpoints

Do not create a separate landing-page style that conflicts with the site theme. The samples and product details must be server-rendered, crawlable HTML.

Use the writer’s headings and wording. Identify sections by their meaning rather than expecting the headings below verbatim.

Part 2Required page order

Build the main content in this order:

  1. Product offer and buy box
  2. Sample questions
  3. Test bank contents and chapter table
  4. Edition compatibility
  5. Before-you-buy questions
  6. Buyer reviews, trust information and repeated purchase button
  7. Related psychology test banks

Do not add a long textbook introduction, table of contents, author block, ISBN block or policy FAQ above the product.

Part 3Page shell and hierarchy

  • Retain the standard site header and footer.
  • Use the normal product-page container, approximately the site’s usual desktop content width.
  • Add standard breadcrumbs if the site uses them, such as:
    • Home
    • Psychology Test Banks
    • Current product
  • Use exactly one H1: the writer’s main product heading.
  • Use H2 elements for each major section.
  • Use H3 elements for sample chapter groups and, where appropriate, the three before-you-buy questions.
  • Preserve the writer’s content order within each section.
  • Give major sections stable anchors:
    • #sample-questions
    • #whats-included
    • #edition
    • #before-you-buy
    • #reviews
    • #related-products

Do not add a separate on-page quiz or answer-reveal interaction.

Part 4Product offer

Desktop layout

Use a two-column product header:

Left column

  • H1
  • Product-name line directly beneath the H1
  • Product image
  • Short product description from the written page

Right column

  • Price and one-time-payment line
  • Primary Buy Now button
  • Digital-delivery and file-format line
  • Three-item guarantee strip

The buy box should be visually distinct using the site’s existing card or product-purchase component. It may remain aligned near the top on desktop, but do not introduce sticky behavior if the site does not already use it.

Product image

Use the product’s existing primary image. It must clearly identify the item as a test bank, not as the textbook itself.

  • Preferred: the existing approved book-cover-based product image with a visible “Test Bank” treatment.
  • If no approved image exists, use a neutral branded document thumbnail containing the exact product title and “Test Bank.” Do not use an unrelated textbook image.
  • Alt text: the exact product name, without keyword stuffing.
  • Load the hero image eagerly and provide explicit dimensions to prevent layout shift.

Buy box

Bind the displayed price and currency to the live product record. Do not hard-code a second independent price.

The primary button must:

  • Use the writer’s purchase label, normally “Buy Now”
  • Add the correct digital product or initiate the site’s direct checkout
  • Never lead to a contact form, “DM us” instruction or manual payment process
  • Use the same product/variant as the repeated button near the reviews

The delivery line must name only formats that are actually delivered. Preserve the written statement that access is provided after payment and by email only if the existing delivery system supports both.

Guarantee strip

Render three compact trust items with existing site icons where available:

  • Wrong file swapped
  • Secure checkout
  • Instant access

Icons must be decorative with aria-hidden="true". Keep the text visible; do not rely on icons alone. Do not broaden the site’s actual refund or swap policy.

Part 5Sample questions

This should be the largest and most prominent body section after the product header.

Structure

Render:

  1. The writer’s sample introduction
  2. Chapter 1 group
  3. Chapter 2 group
  4. Chapter 7 group
  5. Chapter 12 group
  6. Closing statement about answers and tags
  7. Free-sample link or button

Use the exact sample questions supplied in the written page. Do not rewrite, shorten or invent questions.

Question cards

Each question must be HTML text, not an image, PDF embed, canvas or screenshot.

Use a card structure such as:

<article class="question-card">
  <p class="question-number">Question 1</p>
  <p class="question-stem">...</p>

  <ol type="A" class="answer-options">
    <li>...</li>
    <li class="correct-answer">
      <span class="answer-label">Correct answer:</span> ...
    </li>
    <li>...</li>
    <li>...</li>
  </ol>

  <dl class="question-tags">
    <div>
      <dt>Text section</dt>
      <dd>...</dd>
    </div>
    <div>
      <dt>Bloom’s level</dt>
      <dd>...</dd>
    </div>
    <div>
      <dt>Difficulty</dt>
      <dd>...</dd>
    </div>
  </dl>
</article>

Requirements:

  • Show all four lettered choices.
  • Keep the correct answer visible at all times.
  • If the written copy uses a star to mark the answer, retain it but also add the words “Correct answer.” Do not identify correctness through color alone.
  • Show text section, Bloom’s level and difficulty beneath every question.
  • Preserve chapter grouping and question numbering.
  • Use compact tags or a description list styled according to the site theme.
  • Do not turn the cards into an interactive quiz.
  • Do not hide answers behind accordions, login, email capture or payment.
  • Do not add a score, timer or form controls.

Free sample action

Use the sample file URL supplied in the written content or configured on the product record.

  • A downloadable file should use the download behavior where appropriate.
  • If the sample opens in a new tab, include accessible notice text and safe link attributes.
  • Track it as a sample-view/download event if the site has analytics conventions.

Do not render a dead button. If no longer-sample asset is configured, link the action to #sample-questions and label it as viewing the free samples on the page rather than promising another file.

Part 6Test bank contents

Place the writer’s two explanatory paragraphs first, followed by the complete chapter table.

Chapter table

Use a real HTML table with these columns:

  1. Chapter number and Psychology 2e chapter title
  2. What the questions test
  3. Number of questions in the file

Requirements:

  • Include every chapter row supplied by the writer.
  • Preserve the textbook order.
  • Preserve the exact question counts.
  • Use <th scope="col"> for column headings.
  • Use <th scope="row"> for the chapter cell where practical.
  • Add a concise visible or screen-reader table caption identifying it as the contents of the OpenStax Psychology 2e test bank.
  • Keep the chapter-quiz note immediately beneath the table.

On narrow screens, place the table in a horizontally scrollable container. Do not remove the question-count column or collapse rows behind accordions.

Part 7Edition compatibility

Render this as a short section containing the writer’s two paragraphs.

It must make the second-edition fit easy to scan, but it should not become a general textbook-description section.

A compact callout style is acceptable, using a label such as “Edition match” only if that label already appears in the written content or site components.

Do not add:

  • Author names
  • ISBNs
  • Errata
  • A first-edition product description
  • Information about unrelated books titled “Introduction to Psychology, 2nd Edition”

Part 8Before-you-buy questions

Render the three supplied question-and-answer blocks openly on the page:

  1. Where the textbook’s own review-question answers are found
  2. How the full bank compares with free Quizlet or similar sets
  3. Whether an instructor’s exam will use these exact questions

Use a semantic list or simple stacked Q&A cards. The questions can be H3 elements or bold lead text.

Do not place these answers in collapsed accordions. They need to be visible to readers and search engines without interaction.

Keep the distinction clear in the presentation:

  • The textbook’s review-question answer key is free.
  • The product is a separate exam-style question set.
  • Free vocabulary sets remain useful.
  • No claim is made that an exam will copy the bank exactly.

Do not add a long general store-policy FAQ.

Part 9Reviews and closing purchase action

Use the site’s native review component where possible.

The section should contain:

  • The supplied overall rating and review count, if verified
  • Three or four supplied buyer reviews
  • Buyer name or initials
  • Course context
  • How the buyer used the bank
  • The stated outcome
  • Wrong-file swap or applicable guarantee line
  • Secure-checkout statement
  • Existing support contact
  • A repeated Buy Now button

Do not fabricate names, ratings, counts or outcomes. Only expose aggregate ratings and review data that exist in the product record or approved written content.

The repeated purchase button must use the same product ID, price and checkout path as the primary buy box.

Place the trust/guarantee line immediately before the repeated CTA so this section acts as the purchase close.

After the reviews and repeated purchase action, render the site’s related-products row under the writer’s heading.

  • Query the existing psychology test-bank collection or use the product’s configured related items.
  • Exclude the current product.
  • Use the site’s standard product cards.
  • At minimum show product title, price and link.
  • Include an image only if standard product cards normally do.
  • On mobile, use the site’s existing horizontal card scroller or a one-column/two-column grid.
  • Do not add descriptive passages.

If no related items are configured or available, omit the block rather than displaying placeholders.

Part 11Responsive behavior

Desktop

  • Two-column product header, with the offer content and image on the left and buy box on the right.
  • Question cards and text remain within a readable content width.
  • Related products display in a single row where space allows.

Mobile

Stack the product header in this order:

  1. H1 and product-name line
  2. Product image
  3. Short description
  4. Price and payment line
  5. Buy Now button
  6. Delivery line
  7. Guarantee strip

Additional requirements:

  • Make purchase buttons full-width or near full-width.
  • Allow guarantee items to wrap without shrinking text.
  • Keep answer choices vertically stacked.
  • Keep the correct-answer label visible.
  • Enable horizontal scrolling for the chapter table.
  • Do not introduce clipped text, hover-only information or tiny tag labels.

Use the site’s existing breakpoints and spacing scale rather than adding a separate design system.

Part 12Commerce and data wiring

Treat the catalog/product record as the source of truth for:

  • Price
  • Currency
  • Product ID or SKU
  • Downloadable files
  • File formats
  • Product image
  • Availability
  • Related products
  • Review aggregate
  • Checkout destination

The purchase must be configured as a digital item with no shipping requirement unless the store’s platform handles that automatically.

Confirm that the existing fulfillment flow:

  • Makes the file available after successful payment
  • Sends the normal transactional email
  • Does not expose the paid file through a public URL
  • Uses the site’s established checkout security and tax handling

Use existing analytics events such as view_item, add_to_cart, begin_checkout and purchase. Add sample-download and related-product click events only through the site’s normal analytics layer.

Part 13SEO implementation

URL and metadata

Preserve an established indexed product URL. For a new page, use the site’s normal product route and a concise slug based on:

openstax-psychology-2e-practice-questions

Use:

  • The writer’s supplied SEO title
  • The writer’s H1 as the only H1
  • A meta description drawn from the written offer, including the edition match, answers and instant download without adding unsupported claims
  • A self-referencing canonical URL
  • Index/follow directives
  • Open Graph and social metadata using the product title, summary, URL and approved product image

Do not stuff alternate keyword versions into headings or hidden content.

Structured data

Add JSON-LD through the site’s existing schema system:

  • Product
  • Offer
  • BreadcrumbList
  • AggregateRating and Review only when backed by real visible data
  • FAQPage for the three visible before-you-buy Q&As, if the site already supports FAQ schema

The Product/Offer data must use live price, currency, URL and availability values.

Do not use QAPage, Quiz, Course or HowTo schema for the sample questions.

Part 14Accessibility and performance

  • Keep all important copy in rendered HTML.
  • Maintain logical heading order.
  • Ensure visible keyboard focus for buttons and links.
  • Meet the site’s standard color-contrast requirements.
  • Do not identify correct answers through color or an icon alone.
  • Use accessible table markup.
  • Make all CTAs understandable outside their surrounding paragraph.
  • Avoid autoplay, pop-ups and sample-gating modals.
  • Eager-load only the main product image; lazy-load related-product images.
  • Set image dimensions to prevent cumulative layout shift.
  • Use existing CSS and icon assets rather than adding a heavy new UI library.
  • Ensure the page remains usable with JavaScript disabled except for checkout functions that require the commerce platform.

Part 15Do not add

Keep these subjects and features off this page:

  • Flashcard interfaces
  • An interactive quiz
  • Audiobooks or videos
  • Textbook PDF or print-copy sales
  • Student solutions guides
  • Instructor answer guides
  • LMS or Blackboard import claims
  • Author and ISBN blocks
  • Citation instructions
  • Errata
  • Homework-help services
  • Personal-application question answers
  • Sign-up gates
  • “DM us” purchase instructions
  • Claims that an instructor’s exam will copy the bank
  • A long store-policy FAQ
